If a membership is for a child, the parent or guardian is responsible for:
- providing accurate information

- accepting these terms on the child’s behalf
4. Membership commencement
A membership begins on the date we accept the registration and the first payment is successfully processed, unless we state otherwise.
We may decline or cancel a membership application where reasonably necessary, including for safety, behaviour, operational, or payment reasons.
5. Membership packages
Memberships are offered on a recurring basis and continue until cancelled in accordance with these terms, unless the membership is stated to be fixed-term or otherwise limited.
Each membership includes only the classes, services, or benefits specifically stated in the selected membership package at the time of sign-up.
Weekly PAYG (Pay As You Go) Membership
- recurring weekly billing
- no minimum term
- 1 week cancellation notice
Weekly General Membership
- recurring weekly billing
- 12 week minimum term
- 4 weeks cancellation notice
We may introduce, remove, or amend membership packages from time to time.
6. Payments
All membership fees are charged in New Zealand dollars (NZD).
Payments are processed through Stripe using the payment method provided at sign-up. By joining, you authorise Dynamic Martial Arts and its payment provider to charge the recurring membership fee and any other properly payable charges connected with your membership.
You are responsible for ensuring:
- your payment details are current
- your card or account has sufficient funds
- your billing information is accurate
7. Recurring billing
Membership fees are billed automatically on a recurring basis according to the payment package selected at sign-up.
Unless otherwise stated:
- charges will continue automatically
- your membership remains active until cancelled under these terms
- future price changes may apply in accordance with clause 14
8. Cancellation by the member
You may cancel your membership by giving written notice to office@dynamic.nz.
The notice period depends on your selected membership package:
- Weekly PAYG (Pay As You Go) Membership: 1 week written notice
- Weekly General Membership: 4 weeks written notice
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the applicable notice period. Any fees billed during that notice period remain payable.
Notice of cancellation does not remove liability for any minimum term that applies to the selected package.
9. Minimum term
Minimum terms depend on the membership package selected at sign-up.
- Weekly PAYG (Pay As You Go) Membership: no minimum term
- Weekly General Membership: 12 week minimum term
If a membership with a minimum term is cancelled before the minimum term ends, any remaining fees due for that minimum term may still be payable, except where required otherwise by law.
Where no minimum term applies, the membership is ongoing until cancelled in accordance with the required notice period.
10. Failed or overdue payments
If a payment fails, we may:
- retry the payment
- notify you and request updated payment details
- suspend attendance or access until payment is brought up to date
- cancel the membership if fees remain unpaid
Access may be suspended immediately where payment is overdue.
You remain responsible for any unpaid fees validly incurred before cancellation or suspension.
11. Membership holds or freezes
Memberships may be frozen by written request, subject to approval.
Freeze rules are:
- minimum freeze period: 1 week
- maximum total freeze period: 6 weeks per calendar year
- freeze requests must be made in writing
- freezes are not backdated
- freezes are not available where the account is overdue unless we agree otherwise
We may require reasonable notice before a freeze begins.
12. Class attendance and timetable changes
Membership does not guarantee unlimited access to all classes unless your specific package says so.
We may change:
- class times
- instructors
- class formats
- training locations
- timetable availability
where reasonably necessary for operational, staffing, safety, holiday, maintenance, or event reasons.
We do not guarantee that every class will always be available.
13. Missed classes
Missed classes are not refundable and do not create credits, unless required by New Zealand law or unless we choose otherwise at our discretion.
14. Fee changes
We may change membership fees from time to time. If we do, we will give reasonable notice before the new fee takes effect.
Continued membership after the new fee takes effect will be treated as acceptance of the updated fee.
15. Health and safety
Martial arts and fitness activities involve physical exertion, physical contact, and inherent risk. By joining or participating, you acknowledge and accept those risks.
You agree that:
- you, or your child, are medically and physically fit to participate

You must promptly update us if those details change.
In an emergency, we may contact the nominated emergency contact and seek appropriate medical assistance.

20. Personal property
You are responsible for your own belongings. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal items brought to the premises.
21. Suspension or cancellation by us
We may suspend, refuse, or cancel a membership immediately where reasonably necessary, including for:
- non-payment
- misconduct
- unsafe behaviour
- breach of these terms
- providing false or misleading information
- operational or legal reasons
Where appropriate, we may choose to issue a warning first, but we are not required to do so.
22. Refunds
Except where required by New Zealand law, membership fees are generally non-refundable once charged.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you may have under applicable New Zealand law.
23. Changes to membership terms
